Sadly, you can't (to my knowledge) customize the icons of a folder. But you can choose an icon for a shotcut to selfsame folder! Just right-click your shortcut, select Properties, Change Icon, find the icon you want your shortcut to look like, open it, hit Okay, hit Apply, bingo, there's your shortcut. Mmmyep.
